The sounds of a forest over the course of a day and a night.
From nightfall, through the night, dawn, morning and afternoon, and then back into the evening, this album tells the story of a forest, as its sounds evolve through a normal 24 hours. Strongly anchored in a sense of place, Electric Birds in Acoustic Trees gets its name from the use of analogue synthesiser to evoke and emulate birdsong, replacing the more typical ambient field recordings with something both stranger and more musical.
As ever, this album is a journey through many genres, with influences ranging from ambient to jazz to minimalism to post-punk. Improvisation and composition join together in an atmospheric celebration of the beauty of the natural world and the music of the forest.
